Dr. Hector Newman is the Executive Director and founder of the "Iglesias Comunidad de Amor Internacional" (Literally translated "Community of Love Churches International")in Honduras, and in partnership with the American Baptist Churches. Hector was born in Honduras but emigrated to the United States in 1966 with his family where he finished high school in Boston, MA. From there, he went to San Jose, Costa Rica where he received his B.Th. from the Latin American Bible Seminary. He returned to the U.S. to complete both his M.Div. (Pastoral Counseling) from Boston University and his D.Min. (Marriage and Family Counseling), from the New England Bible Institute in conjuction with Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was ordained by the American Baptist Churches on November 6, 1976.
Hector was co-founder of the Iglesia Bautista Hispanoamericana de Boston (The Hispanic Baptist Church of Boston), which is the hispanic ministry at the Tremont Temple Baptist Church in Boston, MA. During this time, he also served as a columnist for the Spanish newspaper "El Mundo"- Published in Boston.
With the help and vision of the Lord, Hector has planted over 17 churches, produced "Talking with my Counselor" radio show, opened and ran a Christian Counseling Center and founded the Bible Baptist Institute of Tegucigalpa.
A believer in evangelism and social action, Hector was a national coordinator of major evangelistic crusades in his country, but also served as Secretary of the Christian organization "Lucha contra el Sida"- The fight against AIDS in Honduras. He currently pastor's La Primera Iglesia Bautista de Melbourne (The First Hispanic Baptist Church of Melbourne) in Melbourne, FL.
He shares his life and home with his wife Nubia, and is a blessed father of two grown children.
Enrique Newman grew up in the missions field of Honduras, constantly surrounded by the spreading of God's word. He continued to be sculpted and influenced by his parents ministry until the age of 17. He then returned to the United States to further his education and find work. After completing his B.S. in Business Administration (minor in Bible) from Pensacola Christian College, he quickly became successful in his corporate career as a supervisor for one of the largest U.S. banks. He is currently pursuing his M.A. in Psychology and Christian Counseling from the Louisiana Baptist University.
Enrique dabbled in a revolutionary way of ministry by starting "eChurch", a You Tube video ministry, established in 2006. He quickly realized the power of the internet as a medium to reach thousands with the message of hope and salvation. It was then when he recognized his calling as an Evangelist. Enrique's call to fulltime ministry came on August of 2007, later joining the "Iglesias Comunidad de Amor Internacional" on October of 2007.
In January of 2008, after an soul winning outreach, he established NEM (Newman Evangelistic Ministries). His passion for souls has taken him through villages, towns, parks, buses, soccer fields and many countries through the power of the internet. It is a ministry that has already seen the many fruits of the Word of God being preached anytime-anywhere.
He currently serves as the Assitant Director for Iglesias Comunidad de Amor (in partnership with the American Baptist Churches) in Honduras, overseeing 18 pastors in 3 regions of the country.
Enrique recently married Stacy, who is from Woonsocket, Rhode Island.
