A few months ago I shared a picture of the destruction of our church building in Valcanes, Choluteca. In October 2019, during the rainy season in Honduras, there was a storm that lasted for four days. The heavy rain hit this area and a strong wind blew up the roof off our church building. The church, which is made of adobe, fell down. We prayed a lot asking the Lord to provide the funds to build the church back up. Additionally, I wrote to many people asking for funds. As a result of my request, Dr. Marvin Masada, from California, who participated in our 2011 medical brigade, responded immediately. In the same way, Jay and Lorilee Locke, from MA, also reached out. They have visited Honduras many times and have physically helped build many churches with us since 2003. Pastor Steve Youd and the Mashpee Congretational Chruch on Cape Cod, MA, also helped out. Pastor Youd has visited that city on many occasions and participated in church constructions and preaching in many churches in the country. With their help, it was possible to build back the church building for this poor community.
On Saturday, March 13th, we rededicated the restored church building to the glory of our Lord and for the blessings of this poor barrio of Valcanes, Choluteca. Many children and adults from the community were in attendance. Last month, we started rebuilding the foundation of Jeremy’s church in Villanueva, Cortes, a church that was destroyed with the two hurricanes. We need your help. Thank you so much amigos for your support in the expansion of our Lord’s Kingdom. To all of you that support us on a monthly basis, we say, muchas gracias! May the Lord continue blessing you.
